I spent my day off hunched over the PC and have just wrapped up two forum changes involving the sidebar.

1) You will now begin noticing CD links on topic pages for CDs, series, or artists that are related in some way.

2) On the flip side, the sidebar can now be disabled entirely by going to your profile, clicking the "Display" link, selecting the "stcforums-nosidebar" stylesheet and hitting submit.  For you haters out there

I don't plan to spend a whole lot of time on the sidebar-less version but I am open to making some moderate adjustments to it.  (The vertical spacing around the footer is a little quirky on some pages so I'll try to fix that.)

Thanks, Adam!  Funny, now that I've lived with the sidebar for the last month or so, I actually don't mind it as much.  In fact, I've grown accustomed enough to it to appreciate the handy at-a-glance Recent Posts section.  All the same, it's great to have the option to disable it now; gaining back that screen real estate is a godsent for a lengthy wall-of-text poster like myself. ;)

Also noticed that the Newest Topics section was taken out - or rather, it seems to have fused with the Recent Posts.   A good choice, but have you thought about upping the number of Recent Posts for display now in its place?

Finally, the CD links idea is pretty neat.  I just got through checking out a whole bunch of various topics to see what CDs would pop up.  ^_^

Would "stcforums-rightsidebar" be long/hard to do? ^^;

I could up the number easily enough but do you think it's really needed?  Personally I always use the New Posts link first to see what new content there is, then if while I'm browsing I notice the Recent Posts content in the sidebar has changed I use those links.  I consider it more an extra than a comprehensive listing.

Easy to do but probably hard to make look decent.  Otherwise I would have done it already considering all the fuss there was earlier.  Does it still seem funky being on the left?

No, I think it looks ok now, I'm getting used to it.
