I'm with you on this. I may try the Kirby DS remake, but I've never been a big Kirby fan. With my accursed retro-fest recently, I may end up DLing the Kirby Adventure from the VC (not that it worked for my aversion to the Paper Mario series...).

Kirby Super Star Ultra features new graphics and fully rendered animated cut scenes.
Does it make me an old coot to be vaguely disgusted by this?
ATTENTION GAME MAKERS: You really, truly don't have to graphically spruce up 8- and 16-bit to reintroduce them...especially when your enhancements seem to disrupt the original flow and presentation of the game. In all honesty, most of us would be happier with the originals on Virtual Console for a fraction of the price.
Oh wait, that's the problem isn't it?
Well can we just have Kirby Super Star and Final Fantasy II/IV on VC in addition to these glossed remakes? I'll buy both, honest!
HA HA HA

...and the Nintendo disappointment continues for me. With each one of these announcements, my Wii gets one step closer to eBay.

Huzzah for Kirby! But it and Wario Land on the same day? Double the joy, double the pocketbook hurt.

Oh boy, I think I'm going to sound like an old coot, too, because not all of the graphical changes look good. Take, for example, the RPG battle. Here's the original on YouTube and the enhanced version on IGN. What on earth is up with the new windows? The entire point was that it was lampooning old-school text RPGs, so having the Mac-style windows defeats the entire purpose.
I'm looking forward to the new modes, however, and am still hoping that my favorite mode, The Great Cave Offensive (best title ever, btw), has all-new treasures to be found.
