Two Random discoveries for today.

I just googled the Japanese equivalent of my name (カール) and discovered that the sweets-making company Meiji has a candy product with my name!

Does anyone know what type or flavor this candy is, so I can try it sometime?

Not only that, but there's also some Office paper equipment supply company with my name also!

Apparently this means I have a corporate business exterior with a sweet candy center inside.

So I guess we can all dispense with the "Carl tastes delicious" jokes right now? wink

I think it's a cheese curl ^^;  カール can also stand for "curl."  So, you're actually very cheesy and may or may not have curly hair. tongue

This is just like in that Simpson's episode where Homer finds out about those Japanese commercials with his face on Mr Sparkle. tongue

Funny, I was just in the supermarket yesterday and though I don't buy candy had noticed that particular brand for some reason.  Goofy little mascot character - no resemblance if I recall correctly wink

I was wondering at the time if it's supposed to mean "Karl" or "curl", since that's the shape of the candy and katakana カール can come out to either.

Nice, thanks for the infos, and of course all the witty replies smile

So they're cheese curls, eh?  I'll have to keep an eye out for them!
Tasty!!

I'm sure you could find those in your local Mitsuwa or something.

Anyways, another thing I noticed was that Skylark has a family restaurant named after him...

Yeah, they're curled puffs that come in a bag like chips.  Cheese is one of the flavors.  They have other favors like wasabi I think.  I like the cheese kind.  They're the closest thing to Cheetos back home. big_smile
