What a shame. One of the last great bands to do something interesting in metal/hard rock is now defunct. Mostly due to the loss of both vocalists, all members are now in other bands/side-projects. You all may have remembered my topic here.
I'm most interested to see what becomes of Dan Foord (drummer) in his new band The Perceval Gage. While post-metal is still within the same genre, I don't see him utilizing all that he's capable of. Especially his performance on Death of a Dead Day.
They only had two albums under their belt: "The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild" (2003), &
"Death of a Dead Day" (2006). The first album gives you a feel of what they're capable of, and then the second one just blows you away. Absolutely flawless.
This, coupled with Extol's hiatus, has me feeling pretty depressed about the state of tech/melodic/math/core/metal.
