Micro-sized graphics with multi-directional shooting; the primary gimmick is waiting until you're about to be pummeled to fire your missile blast. It fires off more at the enemy based on how many are about to hit you, so if 4 or 5 missiles are about to touch you, you might fire off 20, but if 20 or so have you surrounded, you can fire off 400 and light up the screen. All in all, very simple, very old-school, very Treasure. You'll either love it for weeks or get bored after a few hours (I'm the latter personally, but I know some diehard fans). The DC version had an intentionally terrible translation, but I dunno if that's carried over. What Spirits DOES have is a level editing option that lets you trade locally via sound data from the microphone.
For my part, I'm a bigger fan of Mario Sports games than I let on, so Super Sluggers has my attention. Also, if GameFAQs is to be believed, Ys Book I & II FINALLY comes to VC tomorrow, marking the first worthwhile purchase since I don't know when.
And a super stink-eye to Disney, which hasn't deigned to put out Darkwing Duck Volume 3 this year, bumming me out.
