Right, so aside from my annual jack-o-lantern-to-be-turned-into-pumpkin pie and cache stockpiling of Mars and Twix candy bars for Halloween (for the kids, not me - *honest!), October sees another stretch of awesome goods to pick up.  The last of my most anticipated titles for 2008, LittleBigPlanet and BioShock, are conveniently hitting on the same day.   I'm being cautiously optimistic about Golden Axe: Beast Rider; I want it to be good, and let's just hope the integration of the beasts can help differentiate it from the usual free-roaming beat 'em-up hack-and-slash title.  Oh, and Rock Band 2..... I'm seriously considering the Special Edition Bundle, but with LittleBigPlanet and Bioshock tag-teaming me out of a cool $130, it might have to wait.  Not to mention.....

The first Bleach: The Blade of Fate was superb for the DS, and though I understand its sequels aren't quite as good, Blade left a lasting impression enough on me that I'm willing to give Dark Souls a shot.  More bankai is never a bad thing, right?  Importing Ketsui Death Label in the hopes that I'll be able to play at least one amazing shooter this year. (Throws a forlorn and pitiful glance at Nanostray 2.)  And, of course, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.

Can't wait to hear the Rockman 9 Arrange Soundtrack, but it's Rhythm Tengoku Zenkyokushu that's now the latest must-have soundtrack for me.  There's no contest: for me, Rhythm Tengoku Gold is THE best VGM score of the year for me right now, and having the original Rhythm Tengoku thrown in only sweetens this release.

Hey, didja know?  They're finally starting The Simpsons Season sets back up again.  The Simpsons Complete Eleventh Season is finally on the way, and with it, the awesome Saddlesore Galactica episode that I've been so longing to own. For the special edition packaging, I was wondering who they were going to use now that they've run through the whole family, so here he is.   And then there's Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull to round out my Indy collection.

secretly uncrosses her fingers, and lets off a mischievous giggle.

Not much on my plate this month. I'll be picking up Rockman 9 Arrange and Tenchu 4 OST. I'm also considering the Siren OST, but seeing as how I have barely digested New Translation I might hold off on that one.

Edit: Apparently Inuzama Eleven OST is coming out? Yeah, I need that, too.

My Japanese Coach (DS)
-this is going to totally kick ass. You practice writing with the stylus, it checks your pronunciation with the microphone, and it touts a 12,000 word English /Japanese dictionary. Imagine what something like this would have cost in the 90s, all for $40 now, and on your DS.

Shana's getting the Star Ocean 1 remake.

I heard about this. I wish they had a Hangul equivalent. Make learning Korean a tiny bit easier.

The 2nd bleach ds game was actualy a lot more balanced than the first if the english version is anything like the Japanese. I can say anything about the 3rd title as I haven't got it yet but a RPG in Japanese would problably baffle me...

I am waiting on Samba and Sonic to come so I can review them. As for the rest of the month:

- Phoenix Wright 3 which finally comes out here Europe this friday.

-Disaster Day of Crysis but not certain as I want to see more about the game.

-Fable 2 limited edition mainly because I got the Pub games free in the pre order and would be a bit mean to not buy it on release...

- Maybe Fallout 3 if I have enough money as I like games that let you explore.

There ain't no music cds coming out that I would like to purchase but I am always on the lookout for current ones that interest me like Sonic music.

Also trying to solve this current situation I have with me having 2 wii fit bundles at home before buying anything else.I also want that new Wario game and Golden Axe but need money a lot more because of Uni. tongue

Goodness, you guys haven't gotten Trials and Tribulations yet?  -_-;  I feel sorry for you, yet at the same time envious.  Assuming you haven't played it before and know nothing about the story, you're in for one hell of a treat.  I'd love to experience that all over again.

It will be all completely new to me as I only played the first 2 games but have not seen anything about the 3rd on the internet. smile

I did play Apollo justice as confusingly it came out here earlier this year but I didn't really think it said anything clear and the 3rd game. But I must have cursed it because I got an email from GAME where I have the game preordered for £20.It was to tell me that I will only get the game around next week because of supply issues. tongue

While on this thought another email from GAME infomred me that no one will be getting the figure and cards with the Fable 2 limited edition. The explanation was due to the manufacturers not being able to make them...

It's really funny but I will problably only play Tales of Vesperia next year too...

It looks like there are really only two new releases this month that I'm genuinely excited about.  First is Red Alert 3, and I'm planning on getting the "premier edition" since it comes with the soundtrack as well a some other goodies.  Red Alert 2 was one of my all-time favorite games, and I've played just about every Command & Conquer game aside from C&C 3 (didn't have time to pick that one up yet).  Plus the music this time was done by Tim Wynn (The Simpsons Game) and James Hannigan (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), so how can I go wrong?

The second item is the Afrika Original Soundtrack.  Have any of you checked out the main title yet?  It's pretty cool and surprisingly sounds like something out of a superhero movie in the vein of Superman.  I haven't heard any more of the score, but I'm pretty optimistic.  Apparently it got recorded by a 104-piece orchestra in Hollywood, which is the first time SCEJ has made the trip there for a recording session.

Just picked up Dead Space for the 360 last night. I initially hated the view. Like it was trying to be Resident Evil 4, but with the main character taking up, like, all of the left side of the screen.

As soon as it grew on me, I ended up loving the game. It's like Bioshock meets RE4. Definitely one to play. big_smile

Might pick up Time Hollow soon. I remember really wanting to play it.

Waiting for the PS3 Dead Space to arrive from Gamefly. Much to my surprise, it shipped on the first day. Not to my surprise, a whole bunch of other people are pissed off because it didn't ship on the first day.

To be honest, I'm a little surprised you'd go for a game like Dead Space, Wanderer.  Weren't you apprehensive about progressing through Resident Evil 4 and BioShock, due to the horror/fear factor?  From what I've heard, Dead Space is pretty up there.

That said, have you played the game yet?  And Idolores, have you beaten it yet?  Any final impressions?  Thinking of picking up the game myself soon.

Yeah, it's pretty creepy. As much as I like to bitch and moan about the fear factor, I'm still a sucker for getting the crap scared out of me. wink And Dead Space has done it a few times to me already.

The game is pretty good so far. I think I'm enjoying it more than Bioshock (mainly because the battles are more exciting and tense).

XLord007 Nov 23, 2008

I played the first 15 min or so of Dead Space tonight.  My friends wanted to play on Easy, which is too easy, but it seemed like a decent game from my brief playtest.  I certainly wouldn't pay $60 for it, but it might make for a good rental.
