BLECH.

8 hours of electrical engineering questions focused mainly on power and operations.  DOUBLE BLECH.  Really, this is not required for my job but it's almost the same thing as the bar exam for lawyers.  Once I pass this (and get the required years experience) I'll be able to stamp my "seal of approval" on certain projects.  Mostly it's about the (potential) raise that usually comes with passing.

Anyone else have to take a huge exam like this?

I was hoping "PE" stood for Parasite Eve in some capacity. Thanks, man. >:(

Can't say you're alone there; I think it would have been in the Gaming forums in that case.

Yeah, well, my bar exam was 50% longer than your exam, although it was held over the course of two days.  When do you get the results?

I hope you did well, dude!

The last big exam I had clocked in at five hours - the NCLEX-RN, which, yeah, was a crucial requirement for the job.   The hardest part was waiting the three weeks for the pass/fail results.

My profession has a series of exams, ranging in length from 2 hours to 6 1/2 hours.  The current exam system has nine exams, some of which are only offered once a year.  Failing one of the later exams can seriously limit your potential for advancement, since you won't be able to take them again for a year.  The pass rates tend to be between 30-50%.

Thankfully, I'm done with them all now.

Yeah, there's no comparison to the bar.  I know people who are still trying to pass the thing after 3 or 4 tries.

Results generally take 2-3 months to get back.  I don't know why, it's a scantron for cryin' out loud!  I'm assuming you passed?

The only exam I had that lasted that long was when I had to create an Art project in 6 hours from scratch. tongue

I actualy mainly got interested in reading this topic because for me PE would stand for Physical education, which I would happily sneak out of every week during high school...

Best of luck getting the result you need to pass your exam.
