Inspired by two similar posts, here's yet one more: have you ever indulged in a video game-themed promotional drink? I'm really not expecting a huge turnout for this one, but maybe a turnout of sorts from you folks in Japan, at least.
To cast a wider net, let me also ask: have you ever indulged in any video game-themed food item, period?
I tried Final Fantasy XII Potion once; the blue hue looked a little too close to Scope mouthwash for comfort, and the taste..... well, like Joe said, it's very much like a herbal energy drink. Actually, someone compared the taste to a slightly tolerable cough syrup. That sounds about right to me, and it's not something I'd ever drink on a regular basis. I'm most curious to try out that MM9 tie-in Rockman E Can Drink. And, of course, Regain has been around before it, but Metal Gear Solid 4 made it popular. I mean, it completely refills health and psyche in the game - it's GOTTA work in real life, too!
As far as food-related products, I can only remember what came out here in the States: specifically the 80s Nintendo Cereal System. Remember that one? The one that featured the split-in-half pieces of Mario and Zelda characters? I can recall that it was fruit-based - wasn't bad, but fruit flavors really weren't my bag when it came to breakfast cereals.
On the other hand, I vividly remember loving Pac-Man Cereal. There was something about it; it was pretty much a Lucky Charms rip-off but with Pac-Man characters for the marshmallow bits. Yet for some reason, I remembered it just tasting better that Lucky Charms ever was.
I know some of you who attended the recent Gyakuten Saiban concerts got to try out Ema's Snackoo product. How was it??
