Got a chance to play the demo for this one yesterday.  It's pretty fun if much faster and arcadey than I'm used to in an FPS.  I read somewhere that this is what the Resident Evil Outbreak series would be like if it was done right, and I'm inclined to agree.  Since there's no PS3 version, I won't be able to pick it up, but 360 owners should definitely check it out.

Played a lot more of this tonight in local co-op.  It's is a lot of fun with friends, but it does start to get repetitive after awhile since you basically just kill everything until you find the exit.

I've heard that the final game ended up being more action-oriented than what was originally intended.  I was really rooting for the idea of a game that employs a lot more strategic cooperation between your teammates to survive, but  now it sounds like it's degenerated into more straight-up action fodder.

You do have help your teammates frequently in order to survive, but it's usually just to the order of rescuing them from zombies or giving each other health packs.  The cooperation is mostly on the more difficult enemies which need to have everyone shoot at them at the same time to avoid the decimation of any one teammate.  So, basic cooperation is required, but since the "AI Director" or whatever continually mixes up level arrangements and difficulty, there's little overarching strategy.

Yahtzee weighs in on L4D.  The Obama visual made me laugh more than I should.  (I suspect he'll be using Obama just as much as Bush in the years to come.)

His swipe at Mirror's Edge at the end was probably unnecessary too, but the way he said "retard" just sold it.  ^_^
