My older brother just recently shook me down into joining Facebook.

Anyone around here do Facebook, and wanna exchange friend information/add me as a friend?

Just e-mail me at he address I give in my profile, and we'll exchange information then.

I like to put up rants on my page (nothing too serious, although I am known to philosophize once in awhile), and I like to keep a nice art gallery of pics; not so much pictures of myself (Although I do have a few), as I do prints of actual paintings.

Well any social network is a hope for random sexual encounter (or proposal). Either that or you really do care about keeping in contact with some kid you had science with in 7th grade.

/usually someone of the opposite sex
//yeah, in most cases it just boils down to sex

I tried out myspace and I received enormous amounts of pictures from women, kindly showing me their attributes, and requesting my number. That is, my credit card number.

There was only one thing about myspace that I truly enjoyed, spurred on by an article I had read about the connectedness of society, how the degrees of separation are typically six or fewer. I would log in and select someone at random, click on one of their friends, one of their friends, one of theirs, etc., until I wound up in Morocco or Singapore, or some other far off place. I didn't keep track statistically, but my random clicks demonstrated that far off people are not that far away.

Well, up until now, I've found out that Facebook is great for finding out how greatly inadequate you are (or at least finding out that you don't know how to fudge a resume).

Looking at a number of profiles of the (preppy) girls I knew in high school, they have AMAZING resumes...assuming any of that stuff they wrote about themselves is true.

They say employers look at the Facebook and MySpace pages of their potential employees; preppy types like us use such sites to show off our extra credentials, I guess.

The thought of sex hadn't occurred to me. Geez, so lewd and cynical...

Granted, Facebook is more so for preppies, while fratties seem to like MySpace. That's just a wide generalization, of course.

Uh,... they check social networks like that to see if you post dumbass pictures of yourself and explicitly detail your social life so they can find any flaws that are not fitting of a potential "employee"; not the other way around. Anyone in a HR position searching Facebook to find your resume outta be fired immediately. XD

In other words, they're just posting that stuff so they can brag to their friends...geez, shameless shmucks...
