After several late nights in front of the PC, STC's new poll system is finished! ... Mostly .... About.

We will get to the good polls after this test run but for now, let's hear your three favorite fast-food restaurants.  Yes, I feel horribly lame for using such a pitiful poll subject but it is just a test!

STC's system is set up to be an "open poll".  You have the ability to enter in unique values but those that are shared with others will be tallied together.  Give it a shot smile

GoldfishX Dec 29, 2008

1. Subway
2. Burger King
3. Wendy's

Neat. The auto fill-in didn't recognize McDonalds or Wendy's though (it did Subway and BK).

But yeah, I'm a Subway fanatic. Tuna on either honey oat or hearty Italian. I do BK for their burgers and Wendy's for their nuggets...and McDonalds if I'm shopping at Walmart.

absuplendous Dec 29, 2008

It seems to me that the auto-filler recognizes answers that have been submitted already... but there's no way to see those answers! I'm sure Adam's aware of this... I'm eager to see the finished product (and the answers!).

I entered Chick-Fil-A... I could've put down second and third answers, but I love CFA exponentially more than any other fast food place (though Subway is a very distant second).

Angela Dec 29, 2008

1. Sarku Japan
2. Burger King
3. White Castle

.... were my answers submitted.  Will be interesting to see how the new forum works out. :)

1. Dunkin' Donuts
2. Subway
3. Wendy's

Dunkin' Donuts because I'm a coffee fiend. Subway has quick meals without grease or crap and you get all the vegetables you want! Wendy's for their chili, baked potatoes and chicken nuggets. Ever since I got a deep fryer for home, I make most of what Wendy's has at home without attitudes when I ask for my fries without salt.

2. Burger King
3. McDonalds

Rather nifty system you've got going there, Adam wink

Like Goldfish, I'm a Subway Man, which is probably the most healthy choice as far as fast-food goes.
Don't know about this Sarku place Angie mentioned though, what is that?

Is usually get a regular Ham sandwich, preferable with Basil-Mayo, or the BLT with Caesar dressing.

Yum!

They're a chain of Japanese take-out restaurants here in the States, usually located within the shopping mall areas.  Their teriyaki chicken over rice dish is simply spectacular:

Subway is the only one I ever go to, but Angela is right about Sarku's teriyaki chicken... that stuff is tasty.

BAMAToNE Dec 30, 2008

1. Wendy's
2. Quiznos
3. Burger King

Cool. Just testing. smile

Fyi, auto-complete even worked in Opera running on Kubuntu Linux. :thumbs up:

Ramza Dec 31, 2008

I'm a vegetarian so my fast food requires some good no-meat options. And here they are...

1. Subway
2. Taco Bell
3. Quiznos

Ashley Winchester Dec 31, 2008

1. Arbys
2. McDonalds
3. Burger King

Love Arbys but man has it ever gotten expensive to eat there anymore.

And I've said it once and I'll say it again, despite their commercials Wendy's is still fast food.

Schala Dec 31, 2008

1. Jack in the Box
2. Wendy's
3. Arbys

In-N-Out all the way!  Chick-Fil-A is a close second, seeing as I know the owner of one and he sometimes very generously puts my meal on the house, though North San Diego County only has two of those (in Oceanside and San Marcos).

Herrkotowski Dec 31, 2008

1. Quiznos
2. Chick-Fil-A
3. Suki Hana

2. In n Out
3. Chick-Fil-A

Looking to cut fast food out of your life? Here's one more reason why:

And you thought New Jersey was bad, huh!

Bernhardt Mar 18, 2009 (edited Mar 18, 2009)

Subway is good for sandwiches and generally stuff that doesn't make me sick, while Culver's is good for hamburgers; they're like the anti-fast food burger. Good stuff.

Otherwise, all other fast food joints do a pretty good job of making me sick, especially Wendy's and Arby's. And McDonald's and Burger King have given me cold/undercooked burgers last few times I went there. But, hey, their meat's already synthetic as it is, what should I expect? PETA is a bunch of morons for protesting them...honestly, how can any of that meat be real when it's so damn cheap?!

and now, for those of you who like Wendy's... (warning, icky!)

Yuuuppp, nothing gets done about it unless an authority of the law is affected! Or, putting it in better verb-tense agreement, nothing would've been done if an authority of the law hadn't been affected!

Are you serious!?
A ball of pubic hair!?

I'm sure something would have been done even in the case of a regular citizen!

Zane Mar 18, 2009

Fast food makes me want to vom. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a total food elitist, but after completely weaning myself off all fast food, artificial sweeteners/colors, soda and all other kinds of awful junk food I can say that I have never felt physically or spiritually better. I've even lost 10-15 pounds.

Just one small fact: McDonald's buns have azodicarbonamide in them, which is a compound that is completely converted into urea when it reacts with with flour. Yes, urea as in the waste that's in all of our piss. So once it's all mixed in, you're getting urea in your system along with God knows what else. Mmm!

Herrkotowski Mar 19, 2009 (edited Mar 19, 2009)

Yes, it's in the dough, but when the dough cooks, the compound decomposes into the gasses CO2, CO, NH3, and N2. So, in actuality, you most likely aren't eating any.

But in all seriousness, I don't eat fast food all that much anymore. Junk food, on the other hand, a bit more and god help me if I can't GAIN any weight. I swear, being stuck at 128 for the past 5 years eating things that should add some stock to me, whether it be good or bad, is getting rather annoying >.<

Hahahaha... gross!!! That happened at the TGIFridays in Clifton Park... the very same Fridays that Miker and I had dinner at a few months ago. Eek! Miker, you might want to stay away from there for a while, homie. wink

Yeah man, that story has been all over the local news here for days.  Luckily for Friday's, the guy has a sense of humor about it and isn't going to sue.  However, he said he'll never eat at that location again and.. well.. neither will I.  I used to eat there a lot (since it's literally a five minute drive from my house) but have since cut down on dining out in general.  In fact, the last time I was at Friday's was with you.

By the way, I know the link was to our local CBS station here but Fox 23 had the best title for the story.  I'm actually surprised this story hasn't gotten much national attention.  I mean, come on, a snake's head in a guy's side of broccoli?  I bet that gives you a whole new outlook on being a vegan, doesn't it Tommy?  Now not only do you have to be careful what you order, but you have to really inspect what's on your plate too. wink

Do people here drink coke, pepsi, any of that artificial stuff?
I took myself off that stuff long ago, and have never looked back. Frankly, I just don't miss the high-fructose corn syrup, the artificial ingredients, the dead mice...

"Pepsi said it isn't the first time a similar type of claim has been filed."
