Anybody have any experience with one of these?

I'm getting the impression that it's the "Poor Man's" or "Cheap Bastard's" handheld camcorder; I only got one because it came free with the Dell laptop I got this past Summer. And now, I'm feeling that I ought to just go ahead and try and get some usage out of it that I can.

It doesn't seem to record audio along with the video very well; I guess the microphone inside it is for crap?

That, and when I try to connect it to the TV to play the videos on the TV screen, the screen turns off; the manual says it's supposed to do that, but then I can't play the videos on the TV! Why would they include such a self-defeating feature?!

Little help?!

Free Shit is pretty much exactly that.  Free and Shit.

keep it in the glovebox of your car just in case something cool happens then you can sell the footage to the news and get your money back...

Well, I figured out how to make it work, but the mic is still useless.

Thankfully, the software allows me to edit in voice-overs if I actually want speech in the video; I guess they added THAT part in as a fail safe because they knew the mic was useless.

In other words, at worst, I'm going to have to lip-sync if I want speech in my videos.

Thing is, the commercials for this thing showed videos that featured perfectly audible dialogue. Guess I'll take it up with tech support, so if I can figure anything out.

Otherwise, thing records pretty well, the videos, at least, the picture comes out clear.
