For you USers who are Bill Hicks fans, you'll know of the performance Hicks did on Letterman 14 years ago that was cut before airing. He never got to see that footage, his family never got to see that footage. On several occasions, CBS denied it still existed. It was clearly a massive kick in the crotch for Hicks and, while his anger about it was obvious, it brought out more than just anger - he was severely disappointed and it meant a lot to him.

More than that, they'll have his mother on. I wish I could see it tonight, hopefully it will make YouTube or something but I don't think there's a channel that shows Letterman over here any more. I hope Hicks' mother gives Letterman a good talking to but I doubt she will. She seems like far too nice a woman for that.
