I got to see some skeletons with black paint learning how to bite. They couldn't open their mouths very far at first, so their bites didn't hurt that much. But through time, they got better and learned how to open their mouths wider. At that point, it became advisable to avoid them. (Sorry, that link about a skull reminded me of my dream last night.)
