Deep down we're nothing but fermions. It may be that we're still cooling off from the initial bang.
The initial What??
Back in the day, we were all a little bit hot. So we're still letting off some of that steam. Of course, we weren't recognizable, as we were simply chaotic fermions in a quark-gluon plasma. We don't know much about the days before we were unbound fermions, but we do know our space was very limited. We realized that we had better make some friends and make them fast, since we were spreading out, like raisins in baking bread. When many of us came together, consciousness emerged, and we called our early days the Big Bang.
