So I just read this news article.

http://news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/abc/ho … her_090624

She pleads not guilty on account of not knowing she was pregnant, and apparently she didn't abandon the child, she just left it lying in a toilet. That's pretty messed up.

That, is most certainly one SNAFU! First, saying you did not realize you're pregnant is the same as getting caught urinating in public and then saying you didn't realize the penis belonged to you.

Second, the child doesn't appear to move... Did she expect it to just stand up and starting singing and dancing? What a load of crap... and by that I'm talking about the women, not just the lies she's spewing.

"Crown lawyer Jennifer Claxton-Viczko maintained that Halkett knew her longtime boyfriend wasn't the father of the child -- something that was proven by DNA blood test -- and therefore didn't want the child."

Ah, here we have the truth! She didn't want the child, so dump it! That's the only explanation. A "normal" mother would not give up on a child, and do everything to save it (it's instinctual). However, when you're a monster, you can just dump the child in Wal-Mart and pretend nothing has happened. Now, the thing that disturbs me the most, is that she actually was acquitted! I want to know how the hell that's possible??

Oh, and good news, apparently she's given birth to another child and is pregnant again. Joy. And by joy, I mean I weep for these kids...

So true, Avatar. And let's assume that the baby had died during labour. In this instance, I don't think I'd just leave the body lying somewhere. This is a human life we're talking about, and I think even an "unwanted" baby deserves a little bit of dignity.

And the baby in question was from another man? Not her longtime boyfriend? I know how it feels to be cheated on, it's a terrible feeling.

I don't think she had any excuse for pleading not guilty.  According to what she claims to have thought, she was abandoning a corpse in a public restroom.
