With BlazBlue about to fire up our Summer of Fighting series, I'm looking forward to The King of Fighters XII continuing to fuel the blaze. (See what I did there?)  Also looking forward to reliving some newly-christened nostalgia with the 360 Turtles in Time remake TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled.  Online co-op, assuming it makes it in, should be off the hook.

For movie home releases, Coraline is finally arriving.  It'll be interesting to see how well the digital 3D is going to translate, but since they're going for the anaglyphic red/blue glasses approach, as opposed to the higher state-of-the-art polarized tech, I'm betting it won't fare too well.  At least we'll also have the option to view the film in 2D.  And then there's Pushing Daisies: The Complete Second Season, something I can probably hold off on getting until I've finished the first season.  And since I missed out on Watchmen in theaters, I'll at least give the Director's Cut a rental. (Will that extra twenty-five minutes help or hurt the film, I wonder?)

In terms of CD releases, the Rhythm Tengoku Gold Domestic Edition Overseas Edition Complete Vocal Collection.  The title still floors me, but assuming they treat this release right, it should be a sweet CD to own.  I'm being optimistically cautious for the Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince Soundtrack; I was no fan of Nicholas Hooper's Order of The Phoenix score, so here's hoping for a brighter showcase. (Or, in the case of Hooper's impossibly optimistic Phoenix score, a "darker showcase" might be better suited for Half-Blood.)

Wii Sports Resort for me, plus the new Banjo soundtrack (yeah, I know that's June, but only barely).  Probably not much else.  I might spring for Ys I and II Chronicles since I'll be in Japan until the 21st, but I'd like to know more about that "mini sound track" first.  The website is not very forthcoming on details.

Given how agonizingly long the movie felt, I'm betting it won't help. wink

I won't be buying anything that's coming out in July... but I will be buying some stuff that's been out for a while. I'll definitely be expanding my Giacchino collection on CD, starting with "Star Trek" and "Ratatouille."

Might want to buy some movies as well... but the real loot will come in August, on my birthday. tongue

It's kind of a relief that there's next to nothing interesting game-wise this month; it'll give me a chance to catch up on things I've gotten these past few months. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the only thing I consider must-get - I still haven't gotten around to Legacy Ys DS so double-dipping with Chronicles would be foolish, and I've made my misgivings over KoF known elsewhere.

Coraline might be worth looking into, I meant to catch it in theatres, but never got around to it.

It's worse. HP5 had a few highlights hidden amongst the blandness (like "The Room of Requirements") but HP6 leaves no impression (and the album is at least thirty minutes too long for this type of music). There aren't even any action tracks to spice things up, not surprising given that the biggest action scene in the fifth movie was left unscored.

Basically, it's either more of the same of the impossibly optimistic music... or it's just really boring suspense music (more of a drone, really). I'm desperately hoping they bring John Williams back for the last installments (or even Patrick Doyle, who did fine work in HP4).

I can't recommend it enough -- and judging by Blu-ray.com's review, it looks like the home release is going to be a knock-out:

As suspected, the 3D element sounds like it'll be lacking, but the visual/audio quality and bevy of bonus features all look worthy of a Blu-ray purchase.

Where's Mai, huh?!?

Yeah, no kidding! But I've had to push that purchase back a bit. I plan on getting it at some point, but I'm not sure when sad.
