...have to have a TERRIBLE announcer. I picked up a copy of Capcom VS SNK2 yesterday since my co-worker really likes the SNK Characters (and I figured I could goad him over here for a few fights) and wow... not sure if this is worse than Alpha 3.

It's obvious.  The worse announcers play host to the very best fighting games.

I would do anything if they brought CVS2 to PSN or Live.  It would be the online fighter of forever.

How soon you forget the mousy Marvel Vs. Capcom "SUPER COMBO FINIIIIIISH!" announcer.

Truth be told, I've always enjoyed bombastic Capcom announcers.

Actually, I probably should have mentioned this, am I the only one in love with M.Bison's slimed down figure in this game? I always thought his sprites in the Alpha series to be a bit ridiculous, like he loaded up on too many carbs or something. I mean it does fit with his appearance in the Street Fighter II Animated Movie (which apparently influenced Alpha's look) but the guy is still intimating even when he isn't bulging with, uh, muscle.

Hasn't all Capcom games have a bad announcer since the start of the PSX days?

"RESIDENT . . . . EVIL <Insert number/suffix here>"
"MEGAMAN X . . . . <insert number here>"

I don't know, RE2 is pretty good in the VA department. Yeah, some of the lines still come off stiff (Ada, wait...!) but I thought everything came off great in context.

As for Mega Man X, I love how they say "Mega Man X4" on the title screen of X4.

However, when it comes to Capcom vs SNK2, the announcer is present like on every screen you can imagine, spouting off crap. Bit of a difference.

You haven't been playing very many recent fighting games, have you?

Just turn him off via the options, if it bothers you so.

Isn't it HYPER Combo Finish? Ah well.

I like fighting game announcers, too. The only ones that irritate me are the Smash Bros ones.
