Jodo Kast Sep 27, 2009

I have the ability to disturb others and this movie disturbed me. I felt very uncomfortable when I woke up, with thoughts of the hunting grounds still running through my mind. It's not frightening; it just flash freezes the marrow in your bones. This is more of a movie for dudes than chicks. Most of the guys I know won't be able to take their significant others and only one woman I know purposely subjects herself to disturbing material.

The 'antagonists' reminded me of the Yuuzhan Vong, from the New Jedi Order:

It's possible that the Yuuzhan Vong provided some influence, as the similarities are striking. But the Yuuzhan Vong were very alien, even in the Star Wars universe, since they came from a different galaxy.

If you don't mind the possibility of psychological damage, then I'd recommend Pandorum (no pun intended).

My current world view does not allow for a Jodo that can be disturbed. Rest assured, I will watch this movie as soon as I can. Got a whole ton of horror movies to sift through. smile

Well, after reading about the human brain, I'm much less certain of what I actually am. There is so much processing going on, that the self could be tweaked into quadrillions of differentiations. There can not possibly be one self.

I've talked to some people about certain scenes from Pandorum and we're in agreement that those would be bad ways to go. Enough to make me uncomfortable.
