I was wondering if somebody could help me make a list of Europe-only printed soundtracks, for example versions of a soundtrack which have been changed for their european release.

I know there mustn't be so many, but I have at least ONE example: this Curse of Darkness limited edition, only available here in Europe

Thanks smile

p.s. why can't i post pictures...?

Actually, I think there are tons. There have been some very active publishers and distributors in Europe, like Nintendo, Synsoniq and especially all the Commodore 64 / Amiga / other early computer game music rearrangement publishers, although their stuff isn't that noteworthy.

Some off the top of my mind...

Wipeout, Wipeout 2097 (XL), Wipeout Pure
Zelda Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time(?), Ocarina of Time Vol. 2
Lylat Wars (Starfox 64)
Speed Nation: Ridge Racer 64
Donkey Kong 64: Da Banana Bunch(?)
Dragonfarm OVGS
Turrican OVGS
N64 Millennium Trax (remix compilation)
IRIDION 3D & II Arranged Soundtrack Perfect Selection
Silent Hill 3 (missing bonus track from Japanese version)
Silent Hill 4 (missing drama CD from Japanese version)
MGS (missing the last track of the Japanese version)
MGS3 (missing Starsailors' Way to Fall from the Japanese version, thx R)

Turrican has been already mentioned, so yes - I think especially the work of Chris Huelsbeck should appear in your list, too. Huelsbeck is one of the biggest names in the European game music scene:

- Shades (compilation of his game music)
- Apidya OST
- To be on Top (compilation of his game music)
- Turrican OST
- Rainbows (compilation of his game music)
- Sound Factory (compilation of his game music)
- Tunnel B1 OST
- Extreme Assault OST

Thanks! That's true, I didn't think of all those N64 OSTs... but I'm focusing on OSTs from ONE game, not compilations or remix-only CDs.

I think recently there aren't so many EU-only releases, these was common in the past but not anymore. Right?

The soundtracks of Zone of the Enders 2, Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4 also have their European counterparts, which are different from the Japanese. They all have different covers, but the content of the CDs is the same (SH4 does not have the second disc (drama), though). Konami is very nice with us!

Nintendo also released some exclusive soundtrack samplers, for example with Baten Kaitos or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

The Castlevania CoD CD could be called a compilation as well, since it's not a complete soundtrack, right?

It's missing some songs, but it's the soundtrack to the game itself.

...

Okay all right, compilations and such do count.

I think there's one mssing there, that I know of.
There was also an european realease of the soundtrack for Nightmare Creatures quite some years ago. I think it was released by a French game magazine as a bonus cd included with one certain issue. I don't really know any more details except that I'd REALLY like to get my hands on it some day =\

Silent Hill OST, Turok OST, Extreme G OST, many Nintendo promo OSTs to name a few.
