This is a shot in the dark, since I know of only one other STC member in the 1010 WINS broadcast area, but when I turned on the radio this morning, I was greeted by the sound of John Montone uttering the word "beyotch."  I heard him clearly and am confident that he actually said this and not a homophone.  This was the first word that I heard and the last word that he spoke before signing off.  I am curious as to the context in which the word was used.

I believe that he said he was reporting from New Jersey.  Perhaps he was reporting on the new season of Jersey Shore and cutely adopting the lexicon of its subjects, but still it seems a funny thing for a news radio reporter to say.

Ugh, The Jersey Shore?

I couldn't even watch half an episode of that show, before I felt the need to break my TV, and then throw it out the window, and then do some other torturous thing that you'd usually reserve for a living creature that had committed some heinous, atrocious crime.

Thankfully, I still have my TV remote, and it still works; as Dogbert once put it, "Studies show that this thing here can keep idiots off of your TV."

How the hell do these people even GET on TV?!

Moreover, how do they even get people to watch this shit, let alone even sponsor it?

If all the money that was spent sponsoring TV shows, and paying celebrities their salaries, went instead to charitable causes (education, health care, roads, and other infrastructure), somehow, I think we'd see a better world. Not just a better USA, a better friggin' WORLD.

Because people watch it, a lot of people.  Which sells ad spots, which generates revenue.  Money makes the world go 'round.  Spending on public education for kids who don't want to learn and would rather be watching and know more about Jersey Shore than world history; and spending on health care for a society that ingest edible poison on a daily basis, don't exercise, and do everything to their bodies but good and then expect science and medicine to save them from themselves sounds like a great way to spen.....err waste money.  You can't change the world from the outside-in, you have to change it from the inside-out.  Turn off the TV, learn to take accountability for your life, succeed, and let those who falter feel the consequences.

The story probably had to do with a NJ woman's BIOCH license plate: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2010/0 … it_he.html

I realized how nerdy I am when the first thing I thought was "Biochem."
