I saw the trailer for this some time ago.  The first thought to cross my mind was "Lord of the Rings without hobbits".  Dark story and atmosphere, impressive costumes and effects, gritty fantasy action - it's one of the better trailers I've seen in a while:

It's been out in Europe and other parts of the world for some time now but apparently is having trouble finding American distribution.   Anyone seen the movie already?  Any fans of the original stories by Robert E. Howard (of Conan fame)?

I'm a fan of Robert E. Howard. Along with Lovecraft and a few others, he redefined fantasy/horror/science fiction. Of course, he's best known for Conan, but he did much more than just Conan. I did not know there was a Solomon Kane film. Thanks for the heads-up... hopefully it will be good
