I picked up the two Japanese SV guides, partially because they are much more useful than the US...
Like MAPS I'm sure! The U.S. guide had no maps!
The cover art of the Konami guide is nice, but old news. However, check out that Dengeki cover!
Official or doujinshi on the Dengeki cover?
And I noticed on one of the books they were advertising a '108 Stars of Destiny Book' to be released this year. I guess it will have all the artwork and info for the 108 you could ever want. Might be worth it for you to check out, Stephen, since the LE artbook is so scarce; I'll let you know if I grab it and make a couple scans for you.
This is probably the product I want. I like how the LE artbook provided a lot of artwork including a sketches. Such information is vital when constructing costume replicas.
Sorry for the crappy scans, I did the best I could.
Thanks for the scans. Now I know what those products are about. My local Kinokinuya will probably carry the Konami guide.
Where are you getting your guides? You're not in Japan, are you?
.
Keep me posted on that 108 Stars book for Suikoden V. :-)
.
Alright, the book comes out on the 26rd. It will have full body shots of every character, art of every locale, every countdown illustration (really cool stuff), *all* prototypes and sketches of people including stuff not in the LE artbook, and some "Another Story" thing about the Prince and his sister Lym written by the scenario writer of the game. Probably other stuff too.
Sounds like exactly what you wanted, and then some. I'm excited.
Edit: Here's the cover art so you know what to look for: http://www.konamistyle.jp/ecitem/item29816.html
What is a countdown illustration?
Yes, this is looking to be what I wanted.
Thanks for the link to the book.
Alright, the book comes out on the 26rd.
This made me smile. You get a point. :-)
.
Haha. Er....26th...
The countdowns are the drawings of characters that various members of the team (and other Konami staff) made for the days counting down to the release of the game. Some of them are incredible, including one by Ishikawa, or whatever her name is (she did Suiko 2-3 and OZ's art.)
Are these drawings in your LE artbook?
.
Nope, they are not. This will be the first time they'll be published in print form.
Then, how did you know what a countdown drawing was? Was it mentioned in the product description of this upcoming artbook or did you read it somewhere?
If you keep using that darn avatar from SV, I'm going to think you look like the Prince. heh
