Yeah, Chaos Wars sounds like a home recording done in one take by bored drama class students.

On topic: I played Shadow Hearts, but passed on the second one. Guess I missed out there. I've also never played any of the Personas, despite seeing them get rave reviews all over. I think I played a demo for one once, but....

I'm going to say the Darkstalkers series and specifically, Vampire Savior. I don't really know if there was ever a really serious competitive scene for this series (if it was, it was short-lived), but it deserves it. It's surprisingly deep, balanced and the custom combo style introduced in Vampire Savior is far more attractive than the one the Street Fighter games adopted (character specific powerups vs one universal CC style, as in Alpha/Capcom vs SNK). It was also one of the first series of games to really introduce the chain combo system and my favorite fighters overall use it or slight variations (Guilty Gear and the Vs series), plus stuff like air dashing (VERY similar to Guilty Gear...Hsien-Ko and Raptor are a LOT more fun to play when you abuse their air dashes) and off-the-ground hits were introduced here, I believe. Lastly, just watching those amazing CPS2 sprites dripping with all that sexy animation nowadays is something the current crop of fighters can't even begin to compare with, even as amazing as they look. I've been playing a bit on both my Saturn and an emulator and I think it has aged very nicely.

And the character designs...Okay, I can live without a couple (Demitri is pretty generic, I've never been a huge Morrigan fanboy -would love to see her replaced in Marvel 3- and Bishamon strikes me as a Samurai Showdown reject), but damn...Aulbath/Rikuo, Gallon/Talbain, Zabel/Lord Raptor, Lei Lei/Hsien Ko and Jedah are some of the coolest fighting game characters ever. And how can anyone not want to kick ass with Sasquatch?

Can we PLEASE get an Xbox Live Vampire Savior release with GGPO support? Please....?

My backlog is so ridiculously huge that you could say that half the games I own have passed me by, and those're just the ones I own.  That doesn't even count all of the mass market stuff I don't buy that I'm supposed to play through to understand what's popular (GTA, Halo, Gears, Red Dead, Uncharted, CoD).  I do try all of these at friend's houses, but I there's no time to play through them as they're just not high enough of a priority for me.  In a perfect world, I could play through everything and not have a backlog, but no such luck.
