Anybody still wear glasses around here?

Just wanted to ask y'all where you buy/purchase/get your glasses from?

Me, I've had my current pair for the past 6 years, and sometimes, I wonder if the strain on my eyes comes from whether or not my eyes have been adjusting differently over these past 6 years?

I'm going to get myself an eye exam soon, and I'm expecting I'm going to need glasses, so I want to look into that now.

I like thin, oval-shaped frames/lenses; think Auron's shades from Final Fantasy X; I like how such frames are inconspicuous and don't draw anymore attention than they need to. I like them in a grey/silver color, but I'm kind of also interested in getting myself a pair of gold-colored frames...

Anybody know where I could get something look those? Any good stores I should look at?

I hate Hate HATE the thick, coke-bottle frames that have become so popular among hipsters these days, that they're practically the only damn thing you can find on the shelves anymore...

I always thought Vash's (Trigun) zigzag frames were always kind of awesome, too, but I'd be too worried about looking too ostentatious.

What does everyone think about color-tinted lenses?

I've already looked at plenty of Lenscrafters stores, and even on their website, and I've even stooped to looking at designer frames (I really DO NOT want to look like some from that Jersey Shore show...) and the shop keeps at many of those stores were very condescending and unhelpful.

I wear glasses. Have never bothered with contacts; don't know why. I think a lot of it has to do with how my sister got many things I didn't get because of in-house economics growing up.

For example, my sister had her teeth straightened out, I never did.
My sister got her first car from my father; I had to buy mine.

I'm not saying I got screwed or that I'm mad/jealous (as sexist as it is I think people would notice a woman's smile/teeth before that of a man) but it's kind of funny looking back at how things turn out.

I still wear glasses.

I tried lenses once, but apparently there's some kind of problem with my eyes so that I can only wear hard lenses, and they hurt like hell.

I tried for about a half a year, but then I gave up.

I also wear glasses, partly because I can't stand anything directly touch my eye, and partly because I think I look a little better with them than without. I might need a new pair soon, though - the screw on the right arm keeps loosening and making the damned glasses wiggle all the time.

Do any of y'all remember where you got your glasses?

What kind of frames and lenses do you have (shape and color, specifically?)
