Does anyone know of any chain stores in the 'States that carry cellphone straps, or are those a uniquely Japanese item, or otherwise online only?

I went into Best Buy, and they were about as helpful or knowledgeable as a hemorrhoid. Checked out Kohl's: No dice. I'm about to check out Target, KMart, JCPenney, Sears, and Macy's next, but I thought I'd ask you guys first...

I could easily order them from Amazon.com, but I don't want to pay shipping, and there's not much else I could stand to buy at this point, if I wanted to score the free shipping; I'd really just like to be able to pop into a store, and buy a cellphone strap...

I have quite bits of problem with iPhone, but one of them is why it doesn't have a hole for straps. Yeah, I hear Americans don't normally need it. Does dangling a phone from our necks look so bad for them? Do they never drop it?

Me, I'd put the strap around my belt, or at least somewhere around my waist...

Hanging a phone, or anything else, from a strap around your neck CAN pose considerable strain on your neck, or the strap might just chafe one's skin.

I remember back when we had to wear ID tags back in high school, not too long after the Columbine incident; plenty of people complained about how uncomfortable the straps around the neck were, so they nixed the requirement.

Besides, if a terrorist showed up, trying to check their ID would be the least of your worries; rather, they'd probably be smart enough not to carry any with them.
