140 square feet? My bedroom's just a little bit larger than that.
I don't know, could you live in a house like that?
Minimalism seems to be becoming a growing mentality amongst Americans...I guess it's a good trend, especially when over-spending is what landed us in the economic turmoil that we are now in, but there is such a thing as taking it too far.
If you think you need to throwaway everything to keep yourself from becoming greedy, I think that's a result of a more direct, underlying problem...
I would agree that over-consumption is a problem, and it's disgusting when people throw out perfectly good stuff...but consumption also fuels the economy and our livelihoods.
I'd have a small house (not as small as those aforementioned, but) maybe...780 square feet, essentially, four rooms the size of my current bedroom: 1 bedroom, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, and 1 bathroom, maybe even a basement. That's if I wanted to buy/build a house, and I was going to live there by myself, or with a spouse. Kids? Maybe. Maybe not. Probably have a bigger house if I had kids, but still not by much...maybe just add another bedroom.
Well, I guess there's always apartments, too.
Thoughts?
