Well, it's well into football season and my father is hook, line and sinker like normal. Annoying as that can be, there is another thing I find annoying about football and was wondering it anyone else felt the same about...

...the advertising.

When I say advertising, I'm not talking about boring car commercials or lame insurance spots, I'm talking about the batshit insane level the NFL promotes everything that's related to it. I just don't get the point, wouldn't most fans already be watching the game and know you can get the latest, up-to-date scores, injury reports and highlights on the nation's fastest G4 network? Let's not forget to mention all the NFL does for charities and kids a million and a half times. How could one fail to enjoy the lame-ass, washed-up country singer singing an opening number with lyrics about football before the game! We couldn't do without that! Also, don’t forget about our fighting men and women across the seas! God forbid some of us believe that changing the hearts and minds of the Iraqis and Afghans is a futile task and is somehow not safeguarding our future and freedom, something our own government is more than proficient at! That would be un-American, and football (American Football mind you) is as American as it can get.

Seriously, I'm surprised with all that they show any of the actual game.

I was surprised the MNF guy was a famous country singer. I thought he was a comedian.

Actually, one NFL Network game this year really made me mad because it was one giant commercial for the QB for Atlanta. Every little thing he did, the announcers made him out to be the next great quarterback, even though all he did was doing was really basic, conservative stuff (handoffs, 5 yard passes, etc). It's like, "Okay Theisman and Millen...Stop the walking Matt Ryan advertisement and call the game for a change!" It was against my hometown team (the Ravens) and we were like, "lay off Ryan's cock, you bums!". You didn't hear anything positive about the Ravens, even when we rallied to take the lead late in the game.

Funny think about Hank Williams Jr, he actually has a song called "Hank Hill Is the Man" - I'm not joking.

That kind of reminds me of Madden's Brett Farve crush. My god, sometimes Madden just couldn't shut up about him. I wonder if Farve sent him pictures of his privates as well.
