Here's the deal:

My parents' DVD player died and they need a new box that will play DVDs and stream Netflix over WiFi.  PS3 was my first thought, but that costs $300.  I see that many Blu-Ray players have the necessary functionality for $250 or less, and I'd like to get them something that will be easy to use and won't be a headache to upgrade the firmware on.  I looked at some reviews on CNET, Amazon, and Best Buy, and the basic consensus I've found is that the LG and Samsung players do Netflix pretty good, but the LG's have terrible firmware updates that cause crashes and the Samsung players are more expensive and prone to factory defects.  The Sony ones seem to have an outdated Netflix app that only lets you use the instant queue, and some of the reviews mention issues with WiFi.  I haven't spent much time looking at the Toshiba or Panasonic ones yet.  Does anyone have any experience with these type of devices?  Any suggestions or recommendations?  Thanks.
