Wow... that was traumatic. My computer decided to die on me and everything! Luckily, I had been looking into either a major upgrade or a new computer for a while now and so it wasn't as terrible as it could have been. I feel kinda bad that I had to vanish when the Suikoden V discussions were at their peak...

So... have I missed anything?

(This new computer rocks. It took forever to get it working properly though. I've never gotten along well with electronics.)

Welcome back.  Yep, I'd say you might have to spend a good week or two to get everything back to own personal status-quo, before re-adjusting on a new PC.  I assume you had backups on hand?

So what type of computer didja get? :)

Yeah, I backed up a few things, mostly music.

I ended up having a friend build me a:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor
ASUS A8N-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
SAPPHIRE 100134 Radeon X1800XT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
ASPIRE X-Infinity ATXB6KLW-BK/420 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ATX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6811144076)
CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 Dual Channel Kit System Memory
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy (carried over from old system)
Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
Lite-On DVD-RW Drive (carried over from old system)
ENERMAX Whisper II EG565P-VE FMA(24P) ATX12V 535W Power Supply

Now that I've gotten all the kinks out (which included internet not working, the HD only showing half of the space and Windows not booting properly), this sucker is FAST. Then again, I've owned a crappy computer for the last few years so playing games on this one is a complete revelation.

In other words, I've having a blast. wink
