Ubisoft has made the original soundtrack for Beyond Good and Evil available on the home page for the Xbox 360 HD remake of the game.  Just click the "OST - BGE" link here (it's a 168MB zip file - 94 minutes of 256kbps MP3s).

Yeah that's weird.  I can confirm that they had the OST up earlier today because I grabbed it.  I wonder why they took it down?

I don't suppose you have any details on how the audio was going to be remastered? (I don't know much about remastering)

I would have liked it if they had released a version of the music with all the tracks separated and looped in high quality, rather than (only) a re-release of the original soundtrack from when the game first came out, but that would be a lot to expect from Ubisoft. Maybe someone will piece one together from this new version, or perhaps already has...

(ugh, I just read that Ancel actually removed exploration from the first game, which was the part the game felt weakest to me. I have to wonder where he'd be with such a game if he had worked somewhere other than Ubisoft and it's absolute testicular-fortitude void)

I've been trying to look for more music like this; how would you categorize it? Latin? Rap? Reggae?

And, what language is the song in? French? Spanish? Portuguese? Greek? Those are my guesses...

I, too, was always kind of irritated how multiple themes were combined into single tracks; but I have Cakewalk Pyro now, and can split single tracks into multiples...I suppose I'll end up getting to work on that eventually...

I wonder why they took it down in the first place? My guess is that they decided they could probably charge $10 on amazon/itunes and that would be preferable than giving their fans a freebie (jerks)!

I am told it's not actually a real language, but it's made to sound Spanish.
