For the love of GOD, PLEASE someone post some more cat pics!

I'd ask what happened to him, but I'm very very bad at dealing with sad cat stories.

It's simple. He went outside and didn't return for years sad

I've not felt like "buying" a replacement, since he was so great to me. I still keep his toilet in the balcony.

Aged 26, just got myself out of an incredibly sizable debt that had absolutely prohibited me from doing anything with my life even remotely worthwhile. Now that it's over, I've been saving as much money as I possibly can. I really want to go to Asia in the next few years or so. Been considering teaching English. I've heard from many folks it's a pretty sweet gig. I need to research it a bit more before I commit to that kind of decision, though.

Had a steady girlfriend from the Philippines for the last year or so, but I ended it on the grounds that she is insane.

I had moved in with a friend and his three cats, two of which bonded with me so well they could've been called mine as well. I don't have photos handy on anywhere that isn't facebook, and my profile is locked, so I doubt anyone here aside from Zane and Ramza could look at them anyways.

Misty was a hissy, schizophrenic bitch half the time, and a complete cuddlemuffin the other half. When she wasn't hissing at the chair or the TV or even the air or some shit, she was usually cuddling up next to me. She'd even jump onto the bed late at night and sleep on my chest. Invariably she'd hiss at me or the bed or something and f--- off again before returning shortly after.

Ozzy was the easily the most chill cat I've ever met. You could push this cat over, wail on her tummy and wrestle with her and she'd not even bat an eye. She absolutely adored company and also enjoyed sleeping next to my head at night, purring loudly. I remember one time I walked into the kitchen and she darted across the floor at mach speed with her claws drawn, completely shredding the f--- out of my foot. I stormed upstairs to give her hell and she's resting peacefully on my pillow, purring as I walk into the room. How could one possibly stay angry?

Zero was just aloof and hated everything. Way I understand it, she came from an abusive home as a kitten and when my roommate adopted her, she was terrified of everything and everyone. Not much to say otherwise.

Figured out how to deal with problem co-workers. Don't take them too seriously, and just take them as if they were joking, even when they're trying to demean you.

The one girl, honestly, and this isn't narcissism speaking, but I think she might be secretly attracted to me...but she's married, so she's trying to distance herself from me by being a total bitch to me. I just let her know outright that I'm completely unattracted to any girl that has her name. Because I am. I tried to play it off jokingly, but I think she could tell I was being honest and serious. Seriously though, any girl that has had the same name that she has, has consistently and openly been a complete unconscionable bitch to me. Yes, I judge people just on the name that they have. It's a very effective system.

Also, practicing with the sword is good therapy; can't believe I almost completely forgot that I owned the sword that I did. It's empowering; maybe I'll start projecting a strong aura again, and maybe they won't feel like they'll be able to keep walking all over me...

Just thought you might like to know.

...

Carl, are you from Chicago?

Dude, you don't write something like that WITHOUT telling us the name.
SPILL THE BEANS.

P.S.: You are completely insane.

I'll give you a hint: It has something to do with trees/plants/greenery/foliage/vegetation. Also, false advertising.

Autumn?

Anyway, I'm 30 now, and largely in the same pleasant rut. I still work retail over at Christmas Tree, and the employees there currently are a lot more fun than the crowd from two years back (though one of our new managers is like that earnest, stale, the-Dewey-decimal-system-doesn't-have-to-be-boring librarian most of us had in grade school).
I spend a lot of time with my sister, who's only five minutes away, and her kids (who we collectively refer to as JAKE, for Joey, Alex, Katie and Ellie).
I have three cats - Coco, who we picked up after our neighbor dumped her for bringing in fleas, and the elderly Bamm-Bamm (it's the name he came with from the shelter, don't blame me) and the much younger Harry (who was picked up from the same group that my sister got Ron and Hermoine...see the subtle reference?). Willow sadly passed on a little over two years ago. I can add pictures in a bit, but in the meantime I can tell you that Coco is the lazy fat one, Bamm-Bamm is the excessively cuddly one who barfs and Harry is the adventurous one who climbs high and knocks stuff down (he's the one that went out in that blizzard last year, if you recall).
Most of what goes on in my life lately comes from outside, the successes of my nieces and nephews, my mom's recent health issues, and the like. My own highlight in recent months is that I finally set up that HD set I got for last Christmas, so I can actually SEE most of these high-end games without squinting. But as I said, it's a pleasant rut. I make enough to do what I like and I'm not lonely in a close-knit family. That said, if any of you want to play a game online together, feel free to drop a note.

That's a season.

It has to do with trees, and when I say "False Advertising," it means she doesn't fit her namesake, either. I say she's a very unfriendly person, so what has to do with trees and is the opposite of a very unfriendly person?

I've got it! Her name is Woody, right?

Sorry, no. (Points for trying to joke around, though!)

It's a traditional girl's name that's been used before.

Woody is a guy's name.

I'm not answering that question until I know how many Picarats I can earn.

Picarats?

I know I shouldn't ask anymore questions until I check Wikipedia first... (>_<)

Your reward will be knowing that girls that have that name are dangerous.

Amazingu May 19, 2011

BAM:

http://www.20000-names.com/tree_names.htm

Take your pick!

For my guess: Blossom?
Second guess (for reduced picarats): Willow?

Otherwise I don't know.
There's several more common names in there, but not ones that most people'd instantly relate to foliage, I think.

Hmm, friendly little trees...is it Bob, or Ross?

Should I...keep on letting you guess, or finally provide the big reveal?

Holy hell, he actually learned this lesson!!
This is the first time I've ever been impressed with Bern.
I'm so proud I could cry.

Holly.

Thought it had to do something with "Peace," but I was thinking of "Laurel," as in laurel leaf...which are also used to banish vampires.

Well, still had something to do with plants, right?

My job got a little bit easier. Back in 2009, the whole kitchen staff, except for a few cooks, was fired. This included the dishwashers. The owners claimed we could keep our jobs if we took over the kitchen (in addition to our regular duties). I didn't mind too much, since it gave me overtime.

The owners are so cheap they often wash dishes with us, rather than hiring a full time dishwasher. The owners are brothers and their mom found out what they had been up to. She is the head owner. She walked into the kitchen and screamed, "I don't want my son washing dishes any more! I want to see a dishwasher here every day and every night!" Within 2 hours, one of the Mexican cooks found another Mexican to come in and wash dishes full time.

One thing I find interesting about applicants from Mexico is that they all received their education in Mexico City. They never list any specific school. One of the cooks told me he only went to school for a few years. I suppose that's typical. They might really get their education in the "city".

It's been a hell of a week. My place of employment caught fire, leading to a mass evacuation and an inspection by the fire department that turned up nothing but faulty wiring. The blaze wasn't even that big, just our big-ass sign outside got singed.

A few days ago saw me saddled with what had to have been the most horrifying date I've ever been on. I don't think I'll be seeing her again, and I am fine with that. Time to look ahead to new horizons.
