You know, I'm not a big sports nut, but I'm really tired of the whole Tim Tebow thing. I'm tired of being preached at by the media (who springboarded the entire "he's a nice guy and a Christian to boot" thing) why we shouldn't hate on him. The only reason I'm hating on him is because he won't go the f--- away!

Personally, I don't care what his faith is; this kind of stuff didn't make me more interested in John Kitna when they were doing pieces on his faith when he was getting his ass handed to him in Detroit.

So what's your opinion? Sick of Tebow, love Tebow, want to have Tebow's love child?

Don't even know who the guy is.

You don't know how lucky you are. I'd love not to know who Tim Tebow is....

Anyway, Tim Tebow is the current quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Out of the team's three quarterbacks he was slated as their third string QB after a bit of a controversy before the season. The controversy was born out of the fact many fans wanted Tebow to be the starter. Additionally, there was the slight slip or miscommunication (I never really got what this was eventually dubbed as, someone fill us in and correct me if they can) during an interview where Tebow felt he was "robbed" of the starting job when Denver traded for Kyle Orton, another QB.

From what I gather all the three QB were used in the preseason games to see where they stood and Tebow got the last spot. Fast-forwarding a few weeks into the season Denver has been doing rather terrible so the team has put Tebow in at QB. His performance last week was pretty awful but to really say it was all his fault would be a lie. I mean it'd be nice if the team had anything resembling a defensive line....

That aside, the whole thing comes down to the fact many in the media are quick to point out that there's a great amount of fans willing to take joy in Tebow's failures. Additionally, they also say many fans are wrong to mock Tebow's faith. In the last few weeks kneeling down and praying before a game actually became known as "Tebowing" and this was mocked by a Lions player during a (terrible blowout) of a game.

In my opinion, the media can't have it both ways. From the very beginning Tebow was their project, they're the ones that plastered his face everywhere and had to write "feel good stories" about his stong beliefs and faith. In other words, they pretty much pinned a bullseye on the guy's back if he didn't play up to snuff. So now the media gets to criticize people for, uh, being people I guess.

Like I said I'm just sick of all the press coverage this tangled web of events continues to get. Obviously, the latter part of this explanation is my opinon; I was just wondering what others were thinking.

I like Tebow. I keep reading about how he can revolutionize football with his skills and I get tired of hearing about how he lacks the fundamentals, so I want to see him succeed against the grain and make all the know-it-alls sound bad. After the last game he had though...he needs work. Was painful to watch.

You know, I saw this on the book rack at a local Wal Mart and the same exact thing crossed my mind. Not really in the same words but the same in spirit.
