Hey has anyone ever gotten this complete bullshit e-mail from paypal?

Hello Assface,

We're writing to let you know about a change to your PayPal account.

Starting 12/9/2011, money from payments you receive will be placed in a pending balance for up to 21 days. By doing this, we're making sure that there's enough money in your account to cover potential refunds or claims.

Even though you can't access the money right away, please ship orders quickly and communicate with your customers. After 21 days, you can withdraw money from each payment as long as the customer hasn't filed a dispute, chargeback, claim, return, or reversal.

The money may be available sooner if:
We can confirm that the item was delivered.
Your buyer leaves positive feedback. (Applies only to eBay items)
This change isn't necessarily permanent. We'll review your account every 35 days and re-evaluate if we should continue to hold your payments. If we decide to stop holding payments, we'll email you to let you know.

Why are my payments being held?
We reviewed your account and determined that there's a relatively higher than average risk of future transaction issues (such as claims, or chargebacks, or payment reversals). We understand that it may be inconvenient to have your payments temporarily held but please know that we didn't make this decision lightly.

Before deciding to hold payments, we consider many factors. These factors include account and transaction activity, the rate of customer disputes, the type of business a seller runs, average delivery timeframes, customer satisfaction, performance and history.

Questions? Let us know
We understand you’d like to have immediate access to the money you receive and we’re here to answer your questions about this change to your account.

For more information and tips on what you can do to avoid having your future payments held, please see our Frequently Asked Questions. To speak to a Customer Service representative, log in to your PayPal account and click “Contact Us” at the bottom of any page.

Thanks,
PayPal

I'm sorry, I've never gotten a negative feedback score on e-bay yet I'm subjected to this bullshit? WTF? I wasn't very happy with eBay before but now I'm absolutely livid. Why don't you punish me after I f--- up? Or how about you let me, oh, I don't know, manage my own money?

I'm sorry, I'm either done selling on e-bay or really close to not selling. If this is true I'm seriously thinking of just taking my stuff to fye and getting ass rammed that way instead.

This's really becoming common with mainstream online sales and auction sites.

My advice? Do sales on smaller, more independent sites (the likes of which are geared towards locations more local and closer to you). They're just a Google search away. Or Bing, if you prefer. Or Vivisimo, if they even still exist.

Also, going back to sending and receiving checks through the mail might be a better idea, if you still want to do long distance sales. Archaic, I know, but many of these big name sites now report your earnings to the government, and they're going to start taxing you for them, even if you are just some guy trying to scrape together some extra cash - and not some lifeless, soul draining corporate entity - to the extent that they completely negate any earnings you make, forget about even making a profit.

I guess carting it down to Trade-In Stop is always still an option, especially if it's less taxing, in more ways than one, especially when you can't even find buyers online.

I stopped using PayPal about 2 years ago. Glad I did, now. And I was never able to sell anything on eBay, either.

P.S. Did they really call you "Assface?" Well, it's so insulting, they must as well have, right?

they make 21 days interest on everything they hold.

its based on the type of items u sell, and if u dont sell frequently.
go on the ebay discussion forums under paypal,, every thread is about this.

98% of my sales are off ebay (thankfully), plus we're in the highest merchant category
