The Saturn may be my all time favourite console. So many classics. There's the usual of course - the Panzer Dragoons, Guardian Heroes, Nights, Burning Rangers and so on. But also some real gems like Kao Flying Squadron 2, Exhumed, Shining Wisdom and more. And all the awesome Capcom VS games.

A beautiful system.

Not to mention some gems from Working Designs such as

Albert Odyssey -a fun, but mostly forgettable game, however with truly unforgettable music!
Dragon Force -awesome!
Magic Knight Rayearth -cutsey, definitely better than the reviews say.

I feel like the Saturn was the last column that held a video game age at it's height. Basically, I view it like Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire (hello Gibbons), where the last hurrah was the Saturn. Since then we've certainly had great games, but I feel that now with DRM and these huge (evil?) corporations (hello EA), there are few developers that bring about games such as Working Designs. Well, there are of course some gems that get through (Plants vs Zombies) and we still have Atlus and Larian Studios smile

i love you guys. I fully intend to get a Saturn collection going. Picked up Dragon Force, Megaman X4, NiGHTS, and Marvel Super Heroes.

Can't wait to get more.

Haha, I remember shortly after Saturn had died and Electronics Boutique was clearing out Saturn stock, I saw Panzer Dragoon Saga and was like, "$59.99!? That's insane! Not gonna pay that." I still think like that though. lol

I had to make a lot of fuss with my go-to retailer to even get Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force III when they were released. I had no trouble paying full price for them, but I had trouble actually being able to buy them.

sometime I can 't help thinking that Wii graphics are more jagged and pixel-y than Gamecube graphics were.

Referencing: New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns. just 2 games right off the top of my memory. there are more.

I wouldn't have minded if they'd used old SNES graphics for DKCR and just called it DKC4. Not that anything in the game was even that poignant or inspired anyway, anymore than NSMB was.

It could be your TV if you've changed it. Some flatscreen TVs upscale Wii output really badly. Some TVs upscale it very well. There is a huge range of difference, and there's really no telling what you'll get without experimenting.

yeah, Ive used multiple flatscreens (about 3), an old CRT, even my laptop, and Wii graphics just dont sit well w/ me vs. Gamecube graphics. obviously Ive toyed w/ standard def vs. hi-def, still not really happy w/ the results.

not too big of a deal. other games I have still still look good. I think it just has to do w/ certtain games.
