Sorta, though it came way later, and this was only the English name for the show.

But I've seen enough memes, flicked past Cartoon Network enough, have been to enough anime conventions (where you're surround by dozens of different shows at one time pretty much) and have seen enough sloppy, digital animation (I'm not even taking garbage like the new Garfield or TMNT into account) that I've long given up on looking for good modern animation. Adventure Time and Phineas and Ferb get slight passes, as I like them despite how they look, although I doubt I could sit through an extended period of either. And I can't even name a recent, decent anime.
It doesn't help that I much prefer hand-drawn animation. There's something that's just satisfying and warm to look at with a show like this.
I'm not sure memes, split-second peeks of Cartoon Network, and anime cons can provide an informed opinion. I'll concede that at least 90% of *everything* tends to be crap, but there's still some really great stuff coming out of both America *and* Japan these days. You're going to be missing out on a lot of good stuff with that dismissive attitude. For instance, the new TMNT is great, both visually and in its writing. The old show we grew up on has a certain charm and nostalgia factor, but objectively, the new one is far superior. Well, except for the lack of Shredder-Krang banter and no Irma, I suppose.
And for the record, even the anime of today is drawn by hand. You might be confusing "hand-drawn" with "hand-painted". The early days of digi-paint were largely an ugly, lazy mess, to be sure, but there's some gorgeous stuff being made today, even if the writing might still be total garbage. And if you're looking for recent, good anime, check out Mawaru Penguindrum, The Tatami Galaxy, Eden of the East, Princess Jellyfish, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Bunny Drop, Kids on the Slope, Madoka Magica, Chihayafuru, Space Brothers, or Anohana. Just because you can't name anything doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
