I've got an upgraded version of these forums mostly ready to roll and would like you guys to have a look before they go live.  The core code for these forums is a few years old now and really needs an update for security's sake if nothing else.  If the design offers a bit of an improvement all the better.

I'm up for making additional tweaks of course so please leave any feedback you might have.  You can try posting in the new forums as well - in fact I'd like you to - but be aware that when I make the final transition over in about a week, all new posts in the test forums will be lost.  (All the posts here in the current forums will of course remain intact.)

Just some aesthetic points worth noting:

- Quote box background color is great
- New posts background color (blue) looks pretty bad with the general color scheme.  Maybe not so much the color as the "BOOM" standout-ishness of it.  Tone it down a tad bit on the hue and it should be okay
- The sidebar is even worse on mobile this time around.  You have got to get rid of that thing, or fix it.  It's awful now and when you pinch/zoom on the iPhone it pinches the sidebar and it also scrolls with the page.  It looks absolutely horrible and there's no getting around it.  It is also pretty hard to read if you don't pinch on a mobile device because of the layout.  The sidebar really shouldn't be there at all on a mobile version of the page, imo.

- Where did signatures go?

Well the new posts indicator needs to stand out but I can see how its blue'ishness may clash with the blue-green hue of the rest of the design.  Will try to adjust one or the other.

I've got the sidebar optimized for low resolution but hadn't realized it wasn't triggering on smart phones.  Thanks for mentioning it, will fix it very soon.

Sigs are disabled for now.  Not sure I want to enable them.

Edit: Sidebar should be working right on smartphones now.
