Without him, we would never have had a Nintendo Entertainment System. I'm thankful we did.

While he apparently did some horrifying things and was incredibly ruthless in his tenure in charge of Nintendo, there is absolutely no doubt that his influence molded the course of the industry more than most.  And while I like Iwata for his general openness and demeanor in general, there's no doubt that I kind of miss Yamauchi's days!

He apparently said "We cannot guarantee interesting video games just through the use of better technology.".
And thus, the truth was spoken.

I think I can safely say that, without this guy, my life would have been radically different, and probably not in a good way.

Did anyone living in Japan here save any newspaper clippings on Yamauchi's passing? Also, did anyone get a glimpse of the funeral procession?
