There's just something about a fit woman, all covered in sweat, dirt, and blood, pointing a flaming arrow towards you...

I wonder if we're going to see a lot of such upgraded games?

Probably some amount, wouldn't surprise if the major franchises would get 'definite editions' (but PC is the definite edition in the end guys). Still kinda odd that Tomb Raider is the first one to do that, unless the reason for that is Square Enix wanting to get more sales for the game than it originally got. Hopefully this means that sequel is on way either on the current gen or the new gen.

I picked this up for the PS3 and haven't gotten around to it... but the only thing I currently remember (and will likely always remember) is Square Enix complaining about it not selling enough after they poured in the money for advertising the thing. I remember reading the game was technically a "flop" because it didn't reach "Call of Duty" numbers and really, when you start making that argument I just want to punch you. Trying to achieve those kinds of numbers is what got Capcom into trouble.

Additionally, delaying the game to tack on some tacked on multiplayer was really silly as well. It seems nothing can be a single player experience anymore - and not to be a jerk but if you want to try and explain to me why that can't be anymore save it because I've heard it already.

I don't know why, but I immediately thought of the particular "Laura" from Kenji Eno's games when I read this thread's title.

Ha, that makes two of us.
Which means we're awesome.

Next gen sequel has already been announced. No release year yet, but my guess would be late 2015 or early 2016. Looking forward to it.

Awesome, looking forward to that too, and the score also. Hopefully Jason Graves returns.

Is it Laura and not Lara in other countries, or is just nobody noting this?

I can't help but remember a little blurb I read in an ancient Tips and Tricks magazine that "Lara" Croft doesn't exactly go by Lara in certain countries like Japan... but I don't remember what she goes by there.

I think this is just an INCREDIBLY common mistake.
She's not actually called Laura anywhere.
