Did anyone else pick this one up yesterday? It's challenging, addicting, and fun. Also kind of ingenious. As the article above mentions, Nintendo has essentially broken these old games down into their component parts to teach you individual skills before challenging you to apply them in special scenarios. This title challenges old school gamers like us while simultaneously introducing a whole new generation to these mechanics. I hope this becomes a series and Nintendo does SNES Remix next. That would be amazing.

I see this is coming out here in NA. Are these the full-fledged games, or just bits and pieces? If it's just bits and pieces... doesn't sound all that appealing.

Uhhh this has been out since last December in the U.S..  There's a NES Remix 2 out as well!  It takes individual small scenarios from a lot of old games and makes them into challenges.  They also change things up periodically by doing things like having you play as a character from another game or whatever.  It's a neat idea and actually a lot of fun!

It has? Must be a digital-only release which I don't care for and hence have never heard of this.

You missed out! Both games were super fun (if sometimes frustrating). The retail release on 12/5 has both together in one pack for the same price as the digital ones, so you can always pick that up if you're so against digital releases. There's also a retail release for 3DS called Ultimate NES Remix, but Nintendo hasn't said how that will differ yet.

Pretty cool. Reminds me of how you could change the color scheme of GameBoy games on the GameBoy Color.

I was hoping that Nintendo might have a "SNES Remix" or something as a surprise this year, like they did with NES Remix last year. But I guess they're satisfied just selling the old ones at retail now...

Yeah, I'm still hoping they'll do both a Game Boy remix and an SNES Remix. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
