Recently played a bit of DQ VI on the DS. Although I prefer Western RPGs, this is still a very fun game (it's hard not to laugh, in a good way, with a game that lets you strut your stuff on a catwalk)! Anyway, I also recently read this

I couldn't help but think if this was a JRPG, then now would be the time when some ultimate evil is accidental unleashed, or it leads to some "secret" world/civilization. Happy Holidays everyone

It's funny. Everyone here is enraged over this tunnel. It's replacing a viaduct which is earthquake unsafe, but has multiple downtown exits. This new tunnel is going to be tolled (uh huh) and has NO downtown exits at all (which is a bizarre choice). And I'm not entirely convinced an underground tunnel next to the waterfront is earthquake safe. It goes without saying that multiple things have gone wrong with the construction, including this new... thing or another.

These have always reminded me of JRPG scenarios...One is a coal mine fire underneath the town, another has asbestos in the air. Ghost towns.
