Not sure if I posted this before (I may have ?) but wanted to share something I made.   Just started learning piano in 2012 - and learning some recording techniques for home live drum recording.  Both of these have been a personal goal for sometime.  I've finally had the bandwidth to work on music again.

On this track I played / performed all the instruments.

thought some of you might enjoy.

I have another song in the pipeline - a collaboration I'm excited about.  More to come.

cheers

Nice.  I was always disappointed that the NES Rygar soundtrack never made a VGM album.  When I first heard Tecmo Game Music, I was so disappointed that the Rygar music was from the arcade version, which was totally different.

Thx for taking a listen - Yeah, I agree - I was surprised at the lack of sound track work for this classic game...I was hopeful the Ps2/Wii game would have some re-arrangements but didn't.

I plan to record a few more (Gran Mountain is a personal favorite) as well as the the iconic first stage (with sunset) music.  I'll be tweaking this one down the road too (mix and some of the instruments)

Great work, Brandon. I really dig it. I'm a big fan of the NES Rygar and its soundtrack, and I, too, was disappointed that the Tecmo Game Music CD didn't feature the same themes that I remembered so fondly from the NES game (which I still have and play occasionally). Looking forward to your future recordings. Please keep us updated.

Finally gave this a listen.  I'm not familiar with the soundtrack at all but the production on the synth and percussion is pretty solid.  Right when I started to think the percussion might get repetitive you mixed it up. smile

I remember seeing the arcade version of Rygar in a local gas station / grocery mart (one of the few places in my sleepy Alabama town that had any arcade games) and being intrigued by the graphics and attack scheme.  Spent very little time with the NES version though; didn't even remember that it had overhead sequences!
