Does anyone else remember this old strategy guide?

I remember looking through it when I was in grade school. My school turned it into a hardback book... but it was one of the books you couldn't sign out. It had the maps for Mega Man 1-3 and the first two Ninja Gaiden games.

Yeah, I can beat those games without help (outside the first NG because of that psycho continue point) but damn, I totally want to get my hands on a copy at some point.

Also, I never did see the GameBoy one... does anyone have any thoughts on it?

Brings back memories.  My brother and I had one, but it's in several pieces by now as the binding fell apart.

Heh, it's actually sitting right on my shelf. I never got a ton of use out of it, as it's pretty light on actual strategy (and most of the games, I had beaten by the time I got the guide) It can't compare to the Official Nintendo Players guide. But man, it sure covered the NES heavy hitters. As a freebie for Nintendo Power subscribers, it was pretty nice.

The follow-up guides, I enjoyed much more (Game Boy, Mario Mania and SNES...I think there was a Password one too, but that was useless). The SNES one inparticular was huge deal because it covered a lot of games I hadn't experienced yet and it was filled with jaw-dropping photos on each page of 16 bit glory.

Yeah, I had to go get a second one because my friends wore out the first one. It was a great resource, and made the NES Zelda games bearable.

I'd thought I'd mention this but yeah... I broke down and ordered a copy of this. When I got a refund for the one GBA game I ordered but never arrived I just used that towards this.
