Show of hands: how many folks are picking up a DS Lite?  I'm thinking of getting another one, maybe importing that sexy black colored version that NoE is releasing.

For DVDs it's Frasier: The Complete Eighth Season.  At last, I can see the after-events of Daphne's wedding, something I never caught back when the show was in syndication.

CDs, Misa Code and Hime Trance 2.  The latter, in particular, is met with great anticipation, seeing as how the first one was all manner of awesome, but Misa Code.... it's her debut album!!

For games, Street Fighter Alpha Anthology.  IGN provided that glowing preview, and seeing as how Capcom's left a fair impression on me with Mega Man X Collection, this collection also sounds promising.   My brain age must be like a thousand years old, since I've been neglecting Dr. Kawashima -- which is keeping me on the fence for Big Brain Academy.

Also, is Point Blank DS still slated for a June release?

Ryu May 30, 2006

Another DS lite, Angela?

My June releases are the DVD box set of Where On Earth is Carmen Sandiego? and Street Fighter Alpha Anthology PS2.

I hoped that Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest would get a soundtrack release by the end of the month.  Do movies not get soundtrack releases anymore?

Have I mentioned that Smile.dk's "Boys" and Papaya's "Hero" have been announced for remix treatment? In addition to Misa code (both CD and CD+DVD editions, because I'm insane) and Hime Trance 2, I'll also be picking up Misa's Ichinichi single as well as the official CD of Auto Gallery Tokyo 2006.

Nostalgia is the name of the game when it comes to DVDs: Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego: Season 1 and Superman:TAS Vol. 3. Justice League Season 2 may also be a possibility.

I was wary of Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, but IGN's review has pretty much allayed any fears that it would contain bad ports. At only 30 bucks, it's definitely a go for me now.

Best Buy has it listed for a July 4th release: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp … id=1547881

They do... but lately, they've mostly been coming out after the films instead of before them. I'd expect a soundtrack release in July sometime (or at the latest, August). It's hard to narrow down the time because the score hasn't been recorded yet (or even finished, for that matter).

As for me, it doesn't look like I'll be picking anything up next month. I've started playing "Disgaea" which is pretty entertaining (if oddly nostalgic). I have a few PC games I'm working on as well.

I do kinda want a DS Lite as I don't even have a DS but for now, my GBA is keeping me plenty satisfied. smile

Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria Artifact Box.
Oh baby. big_smile

...That's all.

SonicPanda May 31, 2006

*raises hand* I'll be grabbing a DS Lite, yes'm. I also hope to pick up one or two games while I do, though I'm having trouble making up my mind as to where to start. Well, whatever I pick up then, along with my bounty from this past Sunday and the copy of Phoenix Wright that's been on my shelf since January, should keep me busy through the summer.

Hmm, let's see...Angela Aki's new CD, Utada Hikaru's new CD, and....AAAHHH! Akino Arai's latest CD single already came out! And my order won't be arriving until late June...*sob*

And hopefully nothing else, heh. The DS Lite is on my "eventually to get" list...

Oh, and Angela, for what it's worth, GameStop lists Point Blank DS as August.

GoldfishX May 31, 2006 (edited May 31, 2006)

The big items for me are Atelier Iris: Grand Fantasm OST and King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 2 OST...Both are huge follow-ups to two of my favorite franchises. I'm hoping Toshikazu Tanaka comes back for MI2. And the Atelier team is coming off the great Ar Tonelico OST...Hope they don't burn themselves out. Maybe Growlanser V Character Image...The vocal collections from the series have yet to dissappoint me.

Gamewise, I got Tetris DS and Kirby's Canvas Curse last week to go with New SMB, plus Suikoden V to finish and maybe Ace Combat: Belkan War to play, so I'm not in the market for a new game just yet. It's sad I'm enjoying Tetris DS more than Mario (and Mario was still great)...Like the original Gameboy launch, heh. Push Mode Level 5 and Touch Mode Levels 4 and 5 are too good. Might move on to kicking some ass over wifi. Speaking of which, I'm holding out for a Live version of the Alpha Anthology, since no one around here plays it. I pretty much own every* Alpha game already and Kawaks is a great emulator as is.

*Exceptions: Saturn Alpha 3, GBA Alpha 1, PSP Alpha 3 and PS1 Alpha 1.

One other thing that technically counts as a purchase: ECW One Night Stand on pay per view. Last event I ordered was Wrestlemania 15 (they're up to 22 now)...The whole ECW revival angle definitely has my interest.

I'm pretty sure Tanaka is the composer for MI2 as the two samples on HG101 sound like they were ripped straight from Metal Slug 5 and one of the writers says that he composed it.

Thank you.

Yessiree.  Nintendo's handhelds have become like crack to me now.   Dunno why, really; I guess mostly because they've become my main source of gaming entertainment nowadays.  They're just totally neat gadgets to own, too.  ^_^

Anyway, getting the black colored one would go great with my white one.  Get an Ikaruga effect going.  Or something.

July 4th is what most of the stores are stating, as shdwrlm said.   Personally, I'm getting a little concerned as to how the final score is going to turn out, seeing as how, as of this writing, Zimmer is just ironing out some his major thematic ideas.  Last I'd heard, he's going with a 'biker gang' motif with the character of Davy Jones.  o_O

So I've heard!  "Boys" could be interesting, although I would've swapped out "Hero" for another Papaya track.  "Cinderella" would've been perfect, I think -- and that would certainly fit in with the 'hime' theme, no? :)

Ah, I suspected as much.   Perhaps an import is an order, then?

brandonk May 31, 2006

Dammit...now I'm hooked....I hope I can get a DS Lite Black before my trip in July to California...There are WAY too many cool games for the DS....
