I was looking up some used game prices and I stumbled upon this handy little tool:

http://videogames.pricecharting.com/con … hest-price

I was rather happy to see a lot of the cartridges I bought in early 2000 on the cheap or so have skyrocketed in value. And it's not always the ones you expect either (Dragon Warrior III and IV, and FF II (US) and III (US) prices have stayed stagnant).

Highlights:

Megaman 7 - $140
R-Type III - $70 (I paid $3 for my copy!)
Megaman X2 - $77 (I used to have X3, but regrettable sold it for about $80...it goes for $180 nowadays!)
Chrono Trigger - $75
Earthbound - $150 (for a loose cart...I still have the large box and guide it came with!)
Ninja Warriors - $67
Wacky Races (NES) - $70
Lufia 2 - $60
Sunset Riders - $56

Of course, I was equally disappointed to see some of the games I was thinking about picking up are now going for insane prices as well. I was looking for the Pocky and Rocky carts, the first one goes for about $100, the second $140. 0_o

Anyone else sitting on old carts that have gone up over the years? $$$

Damn it, you have R-Type III! I'd love to have that one!

Here's a few of mine that have gone up:

I can't say MMX2 because I paid the full $70 for it when it came out.

Mega Man 7
Mega Man X3
Wild Arms Alter code:F
Felix the Cat
Cave Story 3D
Gradius Collection
Brave Fencer Musashi (not a whole lot, still...)
Mega Man Legends 2
Mega Man 8 (SAT)

Edit: I probably have more... most of my collection is used retro.

Covered in Blockbuster labels, lol. I keep getting this one and Super R-Type mixed up.

lol, I just looked and I have 3 of the 5 most expensive PS1 games:

Misadventures of Tron Bonne - $120
Suikoden II - $100
Valkyrie Profile - $78

And I used to own Tales of Destiny 2 (and I never knew Rakugaki Showtime was even released in the US).

PS1 game prices really seem to be pretty flat overall. I'm surprised Klonoa and Thousand Arms are only around $40. Even the Working Designs games are surprisingly low.

I have Tron Bonne as well... but I didn't buy it back when it came out. I paid a pretty hefty price for that one.
