While shopping around Best Buy's site I stumbled upon a double-dip for the Street Fighter II Animated Movie.  According to Wiki, "A new DVD of the movie is said to be totally uncut (unlike the previous unrated version released in the US) with both (presumibly) Japanese and American soundtracks and languages selectable will be released on July 18, 2006."

Manga's website only shows better box art (on the top it claims Uncut, Unedited, Uncensored) and that it will also have 5.1.  Anyone have any better info about this?

According to murmurings at the DVD Talk forums, the new edition will be released by Anchor Bay Entertainment on July 18, for the retail price of $19.98.  It'll include both the original Japanese master and a new cut, with new, uncensored scenes.  Both the Japanese track and English track will be available in DTS 5.1 and 2.0 audio.  Despite the initial word that it'll be a full frame presentation, an email directed to Anchor Bay confirms that it'll be 4x3 letterbox.  As of now, it's unconfirmed if it'll be anamorphic or not.

As far as the UK release goes, the extras will include interactive player cards (character bios with easter egg of signature moves), UK trailers, TV spots and a still gallery.

OK, call me ignorant....outside of Chun-Li's boobs, what is there to cut?

Some fight scenes got trimmed down, apparently, as well as some minor extensions to dialogue sequences.  Couldn't name any specifics yet, though.

Damn, I hope they didn't change "You worthless pile of excrement!"

It's my favorite bad line in the whole thing.
