No wonder he's only seen them a couple of times, they spend a great deal of their lives in their burrows. That guy needs to be more on the lookout if he wants to find these.
That said, I'd like to acquire its much less hairy/expensive cousin, the Burgundy Goliath... one of these days.

What do people think about the guy taking one out of the forest and sticking it in a museum?
Well, to my understanding the spider is alive and being well cared for. As long as it brings awareness to the diversity of life in the rainforest, I think it's a good thing. After all, if we want spiders and other animals to live, we need to make sure the rainforest will still be around.
If the rainforest is harboring puppy-sized spiders, I say we burn it to the ground.
