Huge fan of BT and I'd really like to see this campaign succeed.  I have such a huge amount of respect for him as a person, musician and technologist.  If you have any appreciation for any of the artists involved or just a fan of great music, check this out!

They're $30,000 away from their $200,000 goal with eight days to go.  My own experience with BT's music is extremely limited (just a couple tracks, "Dreaming" and "The Revolution", from the turn of the century) but I hope it comes through, it could make for an interesting project.

His most famous song by far is Flaming June.  If you listened to any electronic music at all in the last 20 years you'll have heard it sampled.  If you have time to sit down and listen to the entirety of These Hopeful Machines (2 discs), it is an incredible and mind blowing experience.  Suddenly, The Emergency, and Every Other Way off that album are the most "radio" friendly songs.  Disc 2 is a little less pop/vocal oriented but if you've seen Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, you may recognize Le Nocturne de Lumiere as it was featured in it.

A Song Across Wires is his latest album and if you can tolerate the implementation of Drum and Bass, it's a good listen.  It's not as good as These Hopeful Machines (imo) but still very good.  Some highlights off that album are Skylarking (the perfect embodiment of trance/techno, imo.  Feels like it's right out of the late 90s club scene), Letting Go (great vocals but really heavy on the dub), Tonight and Must Be the Love (perfect vocal trance).

For older albums, I really got into him with Movement in Still Life, which Dreaming is from.  The follow-up to that is Emotional Technology, which is okay but not my favorite.  It does feature a really great song, though, called Somnambulist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGqBGdHcbd8

I didn't realize until I started organizing my trip that this concert coincided with Ultra Music Festival in Miami. It made sense as a cross promotional tool but surprising many there wasn't really a significant number of people from the festival. People had come from all over the world just for this show and that's a pretty impressive. BT tweeted that he realized a lot of his fans aren't EDM fans at all and that's a pretty impressive footprint/legacy for an electronic artist to leave.

There was a really nice projector system going for the show that had some cool digital effects to accompany the music, just like VGO/Distant Worlds but the actual display screen was of varying height and depth which made for a really immersive visual display.

The music itself was great, the symphony hall was the most beautiful hall I've ever seen. Only qualm was the orchestra was at times drowned out by the electronic accompaniment but that's somewhat to be expected. There were guest vocalists for the songs with vocals as well as BT himself playing on a ton of different instruments (voice, piano, guitar, stutter edit console, some stringed instrument not sure if it was violin or cello, among others).

One of the songs he played was the song "Good Morning Kaia", which he wrote for his daughter and he said of all the songs he's written he wants that to be the song that defines his legacy. He performed it with the visual display showing a special message to his daughter (now 10) and in the audience accompanied by just pictures of her as a baby through about the age of 2. It looked really impactful and was just a really nice moment he looked to share with his daughter. One of the messages was "Thank you for choosing me to be your father" which I think is particularly meaningful to his personal life.  I remember reading a long time ago that there was a huge custody thing going on with him and his daughters mother and I think she ended up flying to Britain with the child and it was just a mess. Knowing at least that much about his personal life makes it a pretty emotional experience. His daughter also later joined him on stage to help with Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved).

Thanks for the write-up. I missed this thread the first time around, which is a shame as I'm a big fan and have been since back in the Ima days. I think the UK version of Movement in Still Life is a work of perfection. Love Song Across Wires too actually.
