Looks like. According to Nintendo's press release, Club Nintendo will be replaced by another loyalty program, though I don't anticipate that physical rewards will return. It also says that physical rewards and "dozens" of digital downloads will be offered February as a sort of final hurrah. Other regions have already gotten some nice new items. I want to look forward to this, but CN's taught me that any sense of enthusiastic anticipation should be instantly purged. But I can't help myself. Please give us the Japan-only Club Nintendo Picross games! It's now or never!
The writing's been on the wall for some time. Club Nintendo's NA iteration in particular has long been maligned for a palpable lack of effort on Nintendo's end. CN's demise was all but confirmed when the NEW! Nintendo 3DS hit the market without any registration codes at all. It doesn't surprise me, and given its current status doesn't feel like a big loss; still, it strikes me as a little odd that Nintendo's seemingly retiring the Club Nintendo brand itself, when Nintendo could've easily just changed formats and kept the name. Maybe they'll take this rebranding opportunity to name the new program something clever and not at all confusing, like "NEW! Club Nintendo."
Heh, just yesterday I had sorted and put aside CN codes to use after July 1. I guess I better go all in now.

The Japanese one was actually quite good though. They regularly had new stuff, and they'd often have soundtrack deals and nice apparel for limited periods. I'll miss that.
Hmm, now I need to debate whether or not I should register my Wii U system now or wait...
The press release makes it clear that all current points will expire, even those that are unregistered (regardless of the expiry date on the coupon), so I'd register my Wii U now if I were you.
