I don't follow the indie game scene at all, so I have very limited familiarity with the music.  I am looking for some suggestions for indie game soundtracks to check out.
I am not really interested in anything with a retro sound right now.  The Shovel Knight soundtrack may be well and good, but it's not what I'm craving.  I recently clicked on the review to The Sailor's Dream soundtrack Adam posted here, and upon checking out samples, immediately purchased.  That was certainly a nice find!  (Thanks!)  I also have taken a liking to some of the music from Transistor.

The more suggestions you all may have, the merrier.  If you have a long list, I'd love to hear it!

The one that jumps to mind for me is the Sword & Sworcery soundtrack by Jim Guthrie. It's a lovely album from a great game.

Sword & Sworcery took a while to grow on me, but playing through the game twice helped the tunes catch.  There's Bastion and Transistor from Darren Korb, both very good.  Risk of Rain, Guacamelee, Electronic Super Joy are all good soundtracks as well.  However, right now my number one non-retro sounding indie game soundtrack would probably be The Last Door by Carlos Viola:  take a listen to this track.

100% this. Like most soundtracks, playing the game really cements the music, but regardless it's definitely worth a listen (especially since you can stream for free on Bandcamp)!

Thanks.  I'll look into that soundtrack when I have a nice chunk of time in the next couple of days.
